Martina, who is doing all the marketing for Henderson’s Fringe experience, had worked wonders on the numbers today. Last night, according to the Fringe box-office, we had only sold 2 tickets!

This morning there were 35 or so people in the audience. What a result, Martina is a magician.

And it was such a good show today. The audience was so responsive, laughing at all the laughs and being so attentive at the quiet bits. Afterwards I was introduced to Professor David Purdie an emminent Burns scholar and David Ingram another well kent Burnsian. They were both very complementary. I felt so pleased to have made a positive impression on such erudite company.

I then was introduced to four members of the Calgary Burns Club in Canada; John and Morag Goldie and Colin and Janet Pinkerton. They are in Edinburgh as part of the Calgary Burns Club choir to sing at the Tattoo. They were so appreciative of what I did. I never take such appreciation for granted. It is such a privilege to perform for people and when they are pleased, it’s really humbling. I feel so grateful to be a able to give people a positive experience at the theatre. Also the applause is the best buzz ever!

We all had pictures taken; Prof Purdie, Mr Ingram, Mr and Mrs Goldie and Mr and Mrs Pinkerton and me! First all the men and me …and then the ladies; Anne fished out the other bonnets so that we could all look like Burns women!
